Do not confuse “Type” with “Equipment”. Equipment is tied to a modality; I.E. barbell, resistance band, rower, etc. It is recommended that Type be utilized to identify the primal movement pattern associated with the exercise in question. The 7 primal movement patterns from which to choose are;
- Upper body push
- Upper body pull
- Gait (walking, jogging, running)
- Twist or rotation
- Bend
- Lunge
- Squat
