Manage Data Overview

As with workouts, there are a significant number of exercises present within the platform which you can choose to incorporate into a workout you create. However, you will invariably reach a point where you want to include an exercise which is not currently available.

MANAGING DATA

The Data section noted in the main menu bar is the foundation from which exercises exist or are created. While adding exercises to the platform is a relatively simple process, one must understand the hierarchy of the other elements that come into play when building and managing exercises and workouts.

The first step in doing so is to understand that every exercise you wish to add must be associated with a specific modality or “Equipment”. Equipment types which are very intuitive to identify might include common items such as kettlebells, dumbbells, Bosu, swiss balls, slam balls, etc.  They could also include items such as body weight, bikes, rowers, jump ropes and resistance bands.

A very simple process by which equipment type can be created is as follows:

  • Step 1: Select and click on “Data” from the main menu bar.
  • Step 2: Click on the “Equipment” tab.
  • Step 3: Click on the green “+” icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
  • Step 4: Insert a name for the type of equipment to be added, although it is not required you can also insert an image for the equipment.

MANAGING TYPE

Type is used to further define or classify an exercise you will be adding to the platform.    An example would be Upper Body. Adding the Upper Body “Type” to a particular exercise like “Pushup” aids in the search for it in the exercise database.

The process by which a “Type” of exercise is added is nearly identical to that of equipment.

  • Step 1: Select and click on the “Data” from the main menu bar.
  • Step 2: Click on the “Type” tab.
  • Step 3: Click on the green “+” icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
  • Step 4: Insert a name for the “Type” being added.
  • Step 5: Click on the green “Save” icon to the right.

Please note the “Type” of a given exercise can be added at any time by simply highlighting the given piece of equipment and inserting the corresponding Type.
